The following pain procedures are performed at Virginia Baptist Hospital and the Surgery Center of Lynchburg:

• Epidural steroid injections - cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine
• Selective nerve root blocks - thoracic and lumbar spine
• Facet joint injections
• Medial branch blocks - cervical, thoracic, and lumbar
• Sacroiliac joint blocks
• Radiofrequency thermal ablation
• Stellate ganglion blocks
• Celiac plexus blocks
• Lumbar sympathetic blocks
• Placement of epidural catheters for spinal infusion

Anesthesia Services

Anesthesia services at the Virginia Baptist Hospital, a division of Centra Health, include:

• 24 hour in - house coverage for labor and delivery offering continuous labor epidurals with Patient Controlled Epidural Analgesia (PCEA)
• Anesthesia for minimally invasive surgeries including the following laparoscopic procedures: gallbladders, nephrectomies, colectomies, hysterectomies, tubal ligations, appendectomies, hernias and Nissens
• Anesthesia for laser surgeries including urology, ENT, gynecology and ophthalmology
• Anesthesia for sinus surgery, cataract surgery, retina surgery, pediatric squint and strabismus surgery, ear tubes, tonsils, hemorrhoid surgery, prostate surgery, stone extractions, dental surgery, plastic surgery, D and Cs, hysteroscopies, UBTs and novasures

Anesthesia services at The Surgery Center of Lynchburg cover outpatient procedures for urology, orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, and general surgery.
